Who can apply?

Studies can be undertaken by people who hold:

  • a diploma of higher education (at least Licencjat or equivalent, e.g. bachelor) awarded in English philology.

A diploma obtained at a foreign university is equal to the documents issued in Poland as long as it confirms the candidate’s eligibility to undertake the second-cycle programmes of study.

Qualified candidates must have graduated from the declared study programme by the time of enrollment and must have at least a certificate of graduation.

Qualification criteria

Admission rules have been established in resolution no 58/VI/2025 of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University on June 24 2025.

The final admission result is calculated based on the following elements:

element weight
interview 100%

Additional formal requirement

To undertake this programme, it is required to submit along with the application one of the following documents confirming the candidate’s competency in English at least at the C1 level:

  • Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English): PASS,
  • C2 Proficiency: PASS,
  • Michigan ECPE (Examination for the Certificate of Proficiency in English): PASS,
  • Trinity ISE 3 (Integrated Skills in English): PASS,
  • Pearson PTE Academic: minimum score 76,
  • IELTS: minimum overall score 7,
  • TOEFL ITB test: minimum score 98.

A candidate who does not meet the formal requirements cannot be admitted to studies.

Attention: Studies are organised as a Joint Programme by a consortium of partner universities. Qualification is a two-stage process. Firstly, the candidate registers electronically on the consortium website and submits the required documents. Registration on the consortium website takes place according to the schedule published on the Faculty's website. After the preliminary qualification by the consortium committee, the candidate must participate in the admission process at Jagiellonian University.

The interview

The interview verifies the candidate’s language competency and predisposition to undertake the studies. The interview considers the assessment of the application submitted within the consortium.
