Admission step-by-step
Before applying, read the information on the website carefully: application step–by–step.
Continuous admission process description
In the continuous admission process, confirmed applications are reviewed continuously.
To participate in the admission process:
- submit your application for the chosen programme, please click on the green “Sign up” button on the right side of the screen,
- during submission of the application, fill out the provided form with the required data and scans of documents,
- pay the application fee,
- confirm the application by clicking on the “Confirm” button in the “Application” tab. You can confirm your application only when the application round is still open.
PLEASE NOTE! Before you confirm your application, ensure that all the required data have been entered into the system and the documents have been uploaded. You cannot edit a confirmed application.
Remember to regularly check information provided in the IRK system (tab “Messages”) or sent by e-mail. You will be informed about the next steps or asked to provide additional data.
Once all those steps are completed, confirmed and paid applications will be checked and reviewed. If an exam is included in the qualification criteria, you will be informed about its date. Results of the admissions process are published regularly throughout the application round.
Who can apply?
Studies can be undertaken by people who hold:
- diploma of higher education (at least Licencjat or equivalent, e.g. bachelor) awarded in the academic area of: Humanities, Social Sciences or Theology.
A diploma obtained at a foreign university is equal to the documents issued in Poland as long as it confirms the candidate's eligibility to undertake the second-cycle programmes of study.
Qualified candidates need to have graduated from the declared study programme by the time of enrollment and have at least a certificate of graduation.
Qualification criteria
Admission rules have been established in the resolution no 58/VI/2024 of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University on June 24, 2025.
The final admission result is calculated based on the following elements:

Results on the document entitling to undertake studies are not considered in the calculation of the final admission result.
The interview
The interview is conducted in English. Its aim is to assess the candidate's predisposition to study.
Interviews are conducted remotely (online) using distance communication tools (such as Microsoft Teams). To participate in a remote interview, the candidate must have a stable Internet connection, a working microphone and headphones or speakers, as well as access to a webcam. During the interview, the examiner will verify the candidate’s identity (based on the presented identity document) and ensure the independence of their work.
Application form
- Answer questions about:
- completed programme of studies;
- declaration that their diploma belongs to the area of Humanities, Social Sciences or Theology;
- knowledge of the Korean language;
- knowledge of the English language.

An additional application round is opened only for the programmes with free places. Rounds for different programmes can start several days following the announcement of the results. Stay up to date with the information published in the IRK system.
Enrolment for studies
The documents below must be delivered to the secretary’s office during the enrolment dates after receiving “qualified” status. Please familiarise yourself with the list of documents and prepare them in advance. It is necessary to present all the documents for enrolment.

Enrolment is made remotely (by correspondence) only by the deadline specified in the schedule – the candidate has to send scans of a complete set of documents and then deliver the originals for inspection to the student office no later than September 25, 2026. Remote enrolment is possible only by August 31, 2026.
In September, you can only enrol in person at the student office. During enrolment, it is necessary to submit copies of all the documents, along with the originals for inspection. You cannot send the document by post or courrier.

List of required documents
Some of the documents have to be downloaded from the IRK system and signed:
- personal questionnaire – Attention! You can only download the questionnaire if you are qualified and the administrator accepted your photo, so you should upload the photo into the system in advance;
- declaration for correspondence enrolment (only if the enrolment is completed remotely);
- power of attorney – only if a candidate is enrolled by a representative (does not apply for correspondence enrolment);
- summary of the form “Basis for your application”.
It is also mandatory to submit:
- identity document: EU-citizen ID card or valid passport;
- document entitling its holder to undertake studies in Poland:
- diploma confirming the candidate’s eligibility to undertake the second-cycle studies. If the candidate doesn’t have a diploma yet (but has already graduated), they may submit a certificate of graduation instead and sign the declaration of delivery of a diploma’s copy with the original for an inspection by September 25, 2026;
- sworn translation into Polish or English of documents issued in another language;
- apostille or legalisation of a diploma obtained outside Poland – Attention! It also applies to the documents issued in the European Union. In some cases, a later submission of an apostille can be accepted. Check the information on the website: apostille;
- individual official statement issued by the Director of NAWA confirming the holder’s eligibility to pursue higher education in Poland (required for the documents, that has not been nostrified, issued outside the EU, OECD and EFTA except Ukraine and Chinese xuesi diploma.

Tuition fee payment
Information about the tuition fees can be found at the top of the page, in the “Important information” table. A tuition fee is required from all candidates, regardless of any entitlements they hold.
