Admission step-by-step

Before applying, read the information on the website carefully for Polish citizens and for foreigners.

Who can apply?

Studies can be undertaken by people who hold: 

  • international secondary education document (a document entitling its holder to undertake first- or long-cycle studies in its country of issue),
  • Polish Matura (2005–2026),
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma,
  • European Baccalaureate Diploma,
  • Polish maturity certificate (issued up until 2005).

Qualified candidates must hold the document entitling them to undertake the studies at the time of the enrollment.

Additional requirements at the stage of enrolment

Note: At the enrollment stage, some candidates may be required to provide the following documents:

  • certificate of proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level, in accordance with the list published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW),
  • and/or statement from the Director of NAWA confirming eligibility to undertake studies in Poland.

The need to meet additional requirements is strictly related to your individual situation – both your citizenship and the country where you obtained your education are important factors. On our website “Additional documents” you can verify, if you are required to deliver indicated documents. 

Qualification criteria

The final admission result is calculated based on the following elements:

Exam 

The exam is conducted in English. Candidates can earn between 0 and 100 points. The scope of the exam is thematically linked to six pathways available within the program: (1) Law and Policy of Sustainable Development, (2) Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, (3) Social Sciences and Humanities, (4) Biological and Environmental Sciences, (5) Economics and Management Engineering, (6) Economics and Geography. The exam assesses candidates’ aptitude for undertaking studies in the program, particularly: the ability to correctly analyze and interpret texts and data, critical thinking skills, and knowledge of materials related to sustainable development, as indicated on the program’s website.

The exam will take place remotely on the date specified in the recruitment schedule.

Formal admission requirement

To undertake this programme, it is required to submit a documents confirming the candidate’s competency in English. The programme accepts the following documents:

  • TOEFL iBT – at least 90 points (partial results cannot be lower than 20 points);
  • exam IELTS Academic – at least 6.5 points (partial results cannot be lower than 5.5 points);
  • ESOL Cambridge (CAE/CPE) – at least 176 points (partial results cannot be lower than 169 points);
  • PTE Academic – at least 59 points (partial results cannot be lower than 53 points);
  • ITACE C1 or C2,
  • a document confirming obtaining at least 90% of points in the high school leaving exam in English at an advanced level (or bilingual) or a comparable result of another state exam confirming knowledge of English language at least at the B2 level. The final recognition of the document held by the candidate is decided by the Faculty Admission Committee or Rector based on analysis of the documents submitted by the candidate.

Based on the answers provided in the form, you will receive guidance regarding the need to meet additional requirements at the enrollment stage – please read all messages carefully.

An additional application round is opened only for the programmes with free places. Rounds for different programmes can start several days following the announcement of the results. Stay up to date with the information published in the IRK system.

Enrolment for studies

The documents below must be delivered to the secretary’s office during the enrolment dates after receiving “qualified” status. Please familiarise yourself with the list of documents and prepare them in advance. It is necessary to present all the documents for enrolment.

Enrolment is made remotely (by correspondence) only by the deadline specified in the schedule – the candidate has to send scans of a complete set of documents and then deliver the originals for inspection to the student office no later than September 25, 2026. Remote enrolment is possible only by August 31, 2026.

In September, you can only enrol in person at the student office. During enrolment, it is necessary to submit copies of all the documents, along with the originals for inspection. You cannot send the document by post or courrier.

List of required documents

Some of the documents have to be downloaded from the IRK system and signed:

  • personal questionnaire – Attention! You can only download the questionnaire if you are qualified and the administrator accepted your photo, so you should upload the photo into the system in advance;
  • declaration for correspondence enrolment (only if the enrolment is completed remotely);
  • power of attorney – only if a candidate is enrolled by a representative (does not apply for correspondence enrolment);
  • declaration for candidates-minors – if the candidate is under 18 at the date of enrollment;
  • summary of the form “Requirements related to the citizenship and secondary education document country of issue”;
  • summary of the form “Additional information”.

It is also mandatory to submit:

  • identity document: valid passport or EU-citizen ID card;
  • document entitling its holder to undertake studies in Poland:
    • secondary education document entitling the holder to undertake studies in its country of issue, or Polish maturity certificate, or Polish Matura certificate, or International Baccalaureate Diploma, or European Baccalaureate Diploma;
    • sworn translation into Polish or English of documents issued in another language (does not apply to IB diplomas);
    • apostille or legalisation of a certificate obtained outside Poland (does not apply to IB and EB matura exams) – Attention! It also applies to the documents issued in the European Union. In some cases, a later submission of an apostille can be accepted. Check the information on the website: apostille;
  • individual official statement issued by the Director of NAWA (or a decision by the education superintendent issued by June 30, 2025) confirming the holder’s eligibility to pursue higher education in Poland (required for the documents issued outside the EU, OECD and EFTA except Ukraine and Chinese Gaozhong diploma. 
  • certificate of proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level, in accordance with the list published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (applies to some candidates depending on their citizenship and the country of their previous education);
  • document confirming the medical insurance;
  • additional documents required in the qualification criteria.

The candidate can also submit the documents regarding exemption from the tuition fees:

  • decision from the Director of NAWA entitling its holder to exemption from the tuition fees (if the candidate has obtained NAWA's scholarship).
