Admission regulations
Information regarding:

Admission rules for the Doctoral School in the Social Sciences have been established in the resolution no. 72/XII/2023 of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University of 20 December 2023 and appendix to the resolution no. 72/XII/2023 of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University of 20 December 2023.

Academic CV
In the “Academic CV” tab candidate enters the following information:
- education (undergraduate, Master's, postgraduate, doctoral studies),
- scientific interests,
- publications,
- participation in conferences,
- research and professional experience,
- courses, trainings, workshops,
- scholarships, awards, distinctions,
- other achievements.
Research proposal
In the “Research proposal” tab candidate enters the following information:
- title,
- keywords,
- research aim/problem,
- significance of the proposed research,
- research methods,
- concept and research plan,
- preliminary bibliography.
Please note that overall, the research proposal should be between 10,000 and 20,000 characters, with spaces.
Doctoral student status
In the “Doctoral student status” tab candidate answers a question about their current doctoral student status (at a doctoral school or another doctoral programme), or they declare that they are not currently enrolled in any doctoral-level programmes.
Candidate applying on the basis of Article 186(2) of the Polish Law on Higher Education and Science Act, i.e. who does not hold a Magister (master) title and applied for admission to the School based on their exceptional achievements uploads the following file:
- the letter of reference certifying the exceptional quality of your research and the advanced progress of the research, which meets the description in the qualification criteria.
The other candidates do not upload the letter file into the system.
Recommendation letter
In the “Recommendation letter” tab candidate provides the email address of the person who will write their recommendation letter. Recommendation letter should be written by an employee conducting scientific research in the discipline or related disciplines, holding at least the academic degree of doctor habilitatus, or holding at least a PhD degree and possessing the right to supervise a PhD student as the main supervisor.
The Online Application System sends an automatic email containing a link to the recommendation letter form to the provided email address. Author of the letter must fill out and save the form before the date specified in the admission schedule.
Please note that recommendation letter is filled out in the provided fields in the system, not uploaded as a PDF file.
Confirming your application
Candidates do not have to confirm their applications. Applications submitted in full, including the recommendation letter, by the end of the period for submitting applications established in the schedule will be considered by the committee.
