  • Polish Matura (2005–2024),
  • Polish maturity certificate (issued up until 2005),
  • International Baccalaureate,
  • European Baccalaureate,
  • International secondary education document: another document entitling its holder to undertake first- or long-cycle studies in its country of issue.

The candidate does not have to possess the documents mentioned above and examination results when filling out the application form. The deadline for entering the results and uploading documents (if uploading a scan is required) to the IRK system, specified in the admission schedule, is the last day of submitting applications in a particular application round.

Calculating the final result

Admission rules have been established in the resolution no. 46/V/2023 of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University of 31 May 2023.

The final admissions result is calculated based on the following elements:

  subject weight   additional formal requirement

group 1

(1 result chosen from the following:)

English 1 Passing the interview verifying candidate’s command of the English language. The interview is passed successfully upon earning at least 60% of total points. *
French 1
Spanish 1
German 1
Polish 1
Russian 1
Italian 1

*Holders of documents confirming competency in the English language at least at the B2 level are awarded 100% of total points and are not required to take the interview. List of selected documents confirming the command of English, recognized at the Jagiellonian University, may be found here: list of documents.

Calculation of the final result: one subject result is chosen, guaranteeing the highest possible score for the candidate. This result becomes the candidate’s final result on the ranking list.

Failure to provide information needed to calculate the qualification result until the last day of submitting applications in a particular application round may results in obtaining 0 points and refusal of admission.

Place and time of the interview verifying the command of English

The interview takes place on the day specified in the admission schedule.

Candidates are notified of the interview details individually through their IRK accounts at least a day before the beginning of the exam session specified in the schedule.

The interviews will be conducted online (Microsoft Teams, Skype etc.). To take part in the interview, please note that you will need a stable Internet connection, a working microphone and headphones or speakers, as well as a webcam (your identity will be verified with the identity document you will be asked to show to the camera, and you are expected to answer questions without the assistance of other people).
