Useful information

Who can apply?

Studies can be undertaken by people who hold: 

  • international secondary education document: document entitling its holder to undertake first- or long-cycle studies in its country of issue,
  • Polish Matura (2005–2024),
  • Polish maturity certificate (issued up until 2005),
  • International Baccalaureate,
  • European Baccalaureate.

Upon filling out the application form, the candidate does not have to hold the documents mentioned above yet. The deadline for entering the data about the document and uploading its copy (if required) to the IRK, specified in the admission schedule, is the last day of submitting applications in a particular application round.

A document that confirms the right to study is required at the enrollment stage.

Calculating the final result

Admission rules have been established in the resolution no. 46/V/2023 of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University of 31 May 2023.

The final admission result is calculated based on the following elements:

The following elements are NOT taken into consideration:

  • results on the document entitling to undertake studies,
  • results of any additional exams, 
  • achievements in Olympiads and competitions,
  • language certificates. 

About the interview

The interview is conducted in English. Its aim is to assess candidate's aptitude for the programme, including their English proficiency.

Place and time of the interview

The interview takes place on the day specified in the admission schedule.

Candidates are notified of the interview details individually through their IRK accounts at least a day before the beginning of the exam session specified in the schedule.  

The interviews will be conducted online (Microsoft Teams, Skype etc.). To take part in the interview, please note that you will need a stable Internet connection, a working microphone and headphones or speakers, as well as a webcam (you will be asked to show your ID card to the camera in order to verify your identity). You are also expected to answer questions without any assistance.

ATTENTION! Please read the list of required documents well ahead of time and prepare them in advance, as the enrolment period may be too short for you to prepare them last minute. 

  • valid passport or ID card (only for inspection, no copies)
  • Polish Matura certificate, Polish maturity examination certificate, International Baccalaureate diploma, European Baccalaureate certificate, or another document entitling the holder to undertake studies in its country of issue
  • certified translation into Polish or English of documents issued in a language other than Polish or English (does not apply to IB diplomas and EB certificates)
  • decision issued by the director of Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange or by Polish Minister

Documents which can be delivered until September 26:

  • decision on the recognition of a document of international qualification, issued by the Polish education authority (kurator oświaty); more information: recognition of certificate issued abroad
  • apostille or legalization of a certificate obtained outside Poland (does not apply to IB and EB matura exams)
  • document confirming the medical insurance

Tuition fee payment

A tuition fee is required from all foreigners. The fee amount is listed at the top of the page, in the “About the programme” section.

Candidates, who hold NAWA's decision entitling them to exemption from the tuition fees before the enrolment are obliged to declare correct basis for undertaking the studies during the application. It is also possible to change the rules for financing studies in case of obtaining the decision after the enrolment. More information: fees.
