Who can apply?

Studies can be undertaken by people who hold:

  • diploma of higher education (at least Licencjat or equivalent, e.g. bachelor) awarded in the academic area of: Humanities, Social Sciences or Theology.

A diploma obtained at a foreign university is equal to the documents issued in Poland, as long as it confirms the candidate's eligibility to undertake the second-cycle programmes of study.

Qualified candidates need to have graduated from the declared study programme by the time of enrollment and have at least a certificate of graduation.

Additional requirements at the stage of enrollment

Note: At the enrollment stage, some candidates may be required to provide the following documents:

  • certificate of proficiency in English at a minimum B2 level, in accordance with the list published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW),
  • and/or statement from the Director of NAWA confirming eligibility to undertake studies in Poland.

The need to meet additional requirements is strictly related to your individual situation – both your citizenship and the country where you obtained your education are important factors. On our website “Requirements related to the citizenship and diploma country of issue” you can verify, if you are required to deliver indicated documents.

Qualification criteria

Admission rules have been established in the resolution no—58/VI/2025 of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University on June, 24 2025.

The final admission result is calculated based on the following elements:

element weight
interview 100%

Results on the document entitling to undertake studies are not considered in the calculation of the final admission result.

The interview

The interview is conducted in English. Its aim is to assess the candidate's predisposition to study.

Interviews are conducted remotely (online) using distance communication tools (such as Microsoft Teams). To participate in a remote interview, the candidate must have a stable Internet connection, a working microphone and headphones or speakers, as well as access to a webcam. During the interview, the examiner will verify the candidate’s identity (based on the presented identity document) and ensure the independence of their work.

Application form

At the application stage, all foreign candidates are asked to complete a form containing questions about their citizenship and previous education. Based on the answers provided in the form, you will receive guidance regarding the need to meet additional requirements at the enrollment stage – please read all messages carefully.

In the admission application form:
  1. Answer questions about:
    • completed programme of studies;
    • declaration that their diploma belongs to the area of Humanities, Social Sciences or Theology;
    • knowledge of the Korean language;
    • knowledge of the English language.

A detailed admission schedule is available on our website: admission schedule.

An additional application round is opened only for the programmes with free places. Rounds for different programmes can start several days following the announcement of the results. Stay up to date with the information published in the IRK system.
