Calculating the final result
Admission rules have been established in the resolution no. 46/V/2023 of the Senate of the Jagiellonian University of 31 May 2023.
The final admission result is calculated based on the following elements:
element | scale | weight |
motivation letter assessment | points awarded on a scale from 0 to 100 | 50% |
interview | points awarded on a scale from 0 to 100 | 50% |
Results on the document entitling to undertake studies are not considered in the calculation of the final admission result.
About the result calculation
Admission process is divided into two stages.
During the first stage, candidate’s motivation letter is assessed (on the scale from 0 to 50 points). The motivation letter, composed in English, highlights:
- completed courses in the field of Law (especially Civil Law or Intellectual Property Law), Management, Economy, or other courses at least partially related to the broad field of Intellectual Property and/or New Technologies Law, or
- scope of candidate's experience to date related to the field of Intellectual Property and/or New Technologies.
Only candidates who were awarded the highest number of points during the first stage are invited to the second stage of the procedure (i.e. the interview), in number exceeding by half the number of places available (number of places available in the current application round + 50%). Candidates who do not take part in the interview are awarded 0 (zero) points for that stage. The interview covers candidate’s motivation and qualifications for undertaking the programme as well as their English command (B2 level).
Candidate’s result is the sum total of points awarded to the candidate during both stages of the qualification process.
Place and time of the interview
The interview takes place on the day specified in the admission schedule.
Candidates are notified of the interview details individually through their IRK accounts.
The interviews will be conducted online (via Microsoft Teams, Skype etc.). To take part in the interview, please note that you will need a stable Internet connection, a working microphone and headphones or speakers, as well as a webcam (you will be asked to show your ID card to the camera in order to verify your identity). You are also expected to answer the questions without any assistance.
Final result and enrolment
After reviewing the application, the candidate receives information in the IRK on their final result and qualification status.
Qualified candidates are obliged to complete their enrolment by the date specified in the admission schedule.
