Continuous admission process

Applications to this programme are reviewed on a continuous basis. In this admission mode we encourage all candidates to regularly check messages sent to them in their OAS accounts, which will help the process.

Steps required in the continuous admission process:

  • submit your application to the chosen programme;
  • enter all required data into the system and upload documents;
  • to confirm the application, you must pay the application fee.

Once all those steps are completed and requirements satisfied, the application will be checked and reviewed. Results of the admission process are published regularly over the course of the application round. Each results publication includes candidates who have submitted their application correctly and whose application was then reviewed.

Who can apply?

Studies can be undertaken by people who hold:

  • higher education (e.g. Licencjat) awarded in any field. 

The diploma proves their eligibility to undertake second-cycle programmes of study in Poland. Diplomas issued abroad of Poland, entitling to continue university-level study in country in which diploma was issued. 

Admitted candidates need to have graduated from the declared study programmes by the time of enrolment.

Documents required during the submission of the application

Upon the submission of application, candidates have to fill out a form containing questions about the:

  • course of study they have graduated from;
  • final diploma result – if this is not yet known, a predicted grade should be entered, 
  • choice of programme track they would like to pursue and the explanation of the motivation for their choice (“Outline your relevant experience and suitability. Describe your research interests and provisional disseration topic. How can you contribute to the broad field of European Studies? This is provisional statement of interest, giving you the oportunity to showcase your academic ideas and ambitions. Please keep your text within 6000 characters. Assesment of your answer amounts to 50 of 100 points of your result”.);
  • preliminary thesis proposal should contain a good indication of the topic what you want to work for your Thesis, a preliminary research question, and a discussion of the relevance of this proposed research project. Your proposal must include a short description (around 400 words) of what you would like to investigate and why this topic should be taken into consideration (background to, and relevance of your Thesis topic). In addition, it should state the problem and/or question together with any sub-questions (problem statement and/or research question), indicate the theoretical/conceptual framework which you would like to employ, explain briefly the methodology which you foresee for this project, provide an annotated bibliography (around 10 titles), sketch a brief skeleton outline of possible chapters, and briefly outline the expected timeframe for both the research and the writing of the Thesis;
  • source of information regarding European Studies admissions;
  • scan of the transcript of grades;
  • Curriculum Vitae (résumé), highlighting academic achievements. Curriculum Vitae should be prepared in the Europass format, available at: http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/en/documents/curriculum-vitae.

When filling out the sign up form in the system, candidates upload copies of the following documents, required for the calculation of their final result:

Candidates who hold a document confirming their command of English which may be basis for an exemption from taking part in the interview should upload the document in the system. The review of the application may only begin once the application fee is booked.

Calculating the final result

The final admissions result is calculated based on the following elements:

documents analysis on a scale from 0 to 100 100% Passing the interview verifying candidate’s command of the English language. The interview is passed successfully upon earning at least 60% of total points. *

*Holders of documents confirming competency in the English language at least at the B2 level are awarded 100% of total points and are not required to take the interview. About the documents analysis

Other element calculated based on the analysis of documents submitted by the candidate, allocating points as follows:

  1. Application content—maximum of 70 points, including:
  • grades in the transcript—25 points;
  • alignment of past education and completed studies with the profile of the chosen programme—10 points;
  • academic and non-academic experience, or other achievements, substantially related to the programme topic—25 points;
  • foreign language proficiency—10 points;     

      2. Motivation—maximum of 30 points—motivation for undertaking the programme, relevance and originality of academic interests and research plans related to preparing the Master thesis, presented in the application (maximum of 6000 characters).

Place and time of the interview verifying the command of English

The interview takes place on the day specified in the admission schedule.

Candidates are notified of the interview details individually through their OAS accounts.

The interviews will be conducted online (Microsoft Teams, Skype etc.). To take part in the interview, please note that you will need a stable Internet connection, a working microphone and headphones or speakers, as well as a webcam (your identity will be verified with the identity document you will be asked to show to the camera, and you are expected to answer questions without the assistance of other people).

Final result and enrolment

After the application is reviewed, candidate receives information in the OAS on their final result and qualification status.

Qualified candidates are obliged to complete their enrolment by the date specified in the admission schedule.

ATTENTION! Please familiarize yourself with the list of required documents and prepare them in advance, as their collection may take longer than the time allocated admission to studies. 

  • valid passport or ID card (only for inspection, no copies)
  • graduation diploma entitling to undertake second-cycle studies*
  • certified translation into Polish or English of documents issued in a language other than Polish or English
  • document confirming the English command, if it was uploaded into the system when filling out the application form
  • documents uploaded et the recruitment application

Documents which can be delivered until September 29:

  • apostille or legalization of a certificate obtained outside Poland

*If the candidate doesn't have a diploma yet, in its place, he may submit a certificate of graduation, together with a declaration that he or she undertakes to deliver a copy of the diploma with the original for inspection by September 29, 2022.
